Aloha! Today, I’m going to cover some super fun and exciting Hawaiian cocktails.  
You probably think of fruity, sweet, and decadently tropical drinks when you think of Hawaiian cocktails. If so, then you’re right on the money!

A few Hawaiian cocktails fall outside of those parameters, of course, but for the most part, that’s what they’re like exactly. 
When making Hawaiian mixed drinks, you’ll use a lot of rum, coconut and coconut-flavored ingredients, pineapple and pineapple ingredients, and plenty of grenadine. 
(That last one is mainly for the color; you’ll see a lot of blue Curacao, too, and for the same reason.) So sit back, relax, and mahalo (for stopping by!).

Most people know mimosas are simply a combination of champagne and orange juice, but these are Hawaiian mimosas, so they’re somewhat different. 
You’ll still use champagne, but you’ll replace the orange juice with pineapple juice and add a bit of coconut rum for an extra kick.
They’re sweet, tropical, and all-around incredible.

At first glance, people may mistake the Hawaiian martini for a tequila sunrise.
They look similar, starting with a reddish-orange color at the bottom and fading to lighter yellow at the top.
There’s no tequila in these drinks, though. Instead, you’ll use vodka, pineapple juice, orange juice, grenadine, ice, and an orange strip garnish. 
It’s fruity, tangy, and looks great whether you’re sitting on the beach or in your own backyard.

If you’re looking for something more on the bittersweet side, try the Maui island breeze. It, too, contains vodka and pineapple juice. 
However, instead of orange juice and grenadine – like the Hawaiian martini – this drink contains a bright splash of cranberry juice.

It makes the drink more bitter and tart. 
But if that’s the kind of drink you’ll like, you’ll really enjoy this one.

Not every cocktail with the word “blue” in its name uses blue Curacao in the recipe, but a whole lot of them do, including this one. 
You’ll also need coconut rum, pineapple juice, lots of ice, and pineapples and maraschino cherries for garnishes. 
This drink is electric blue and looks phenomenal under a black light. It also tastes fantastic – tart and tangy with just a whisper of berry sweetness. 
If you don’t like overly sugary and candy-tasting drinks, this one might not be for you, but it’s too gorgeous and scrumptious not to try at least once in your life. 

If you want to make your blue Hawaiians even more unique, turn them into Jell-O shots instead!
They keep the same brilliant blue hue and candy-tart taste, but they’re jiggly and a lot more fun.

Like most well-known drinks on this list, this is simply a Moscow mule with a tropical twist.
It’s light and tangy, thanks to the lime juice, vodka, and pineapple juice. 
However, there’s also a rich herby freshness underneath because of the ginger beer. It’s cold, crisp, and wonderfully refreshing on a hot day.

POG (passion orange guava) juice is a manufactured fruit juice that’s hugely popular in Hawaii, but if you don’t have the store-bought stuff, you can easily make your own. 
Once you have it, you’ll add it to Malibu rum and dry champagne. Use lots of crushed ice and your favorite tropical fruits, and you’re all set. 
The drink is fantastically fruity, super tart, and strikingly orange.
Stick a fun straw and a cute umbrella in it, and it could easily be the prettiest drink on the table. 

This pink- and lavender-colored drink is drop-dead gorgeous and looks like it should be reserved for visiting royalty or at least a fancy wedding reception. 
Despite its beauty, it’s incredibly easy to make. Start by salting the rim of your glass.
Then, make the drink with gin, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and lychee juice. 
Garnish it with fresh lime wedges and lychees to make it look exceptionally lovely.
Thankfully, it tastes great, but really, no one would care if it didn’t since it’s that beautiful. 

If you’re looking for something a bit more crisp and refreshing, give the Hawaiian sea breeze a try. 
It combines cranberry juice, pineapple juice, and vodka for a tart, slightly bitter, but entirely refreshing cocktail with an appealing red color. 
For an even sourer drink, squirt a bit of lime juice in before adding the lime wedge garnish to the side.

The Mai Tai is one Hawaiian cocktail that nearly everyone knows, even if they aren’t entirely sure how to make it.
It’s a rum-heavy drink that’s pretty strong, and it has a rich, complex flavor.
It’s tropical and tangy, but there are sweeter, earthier notes beneath the surface. 
Depending on which brands of rum and orgeat you use, you could get notes of almond, caramel, vanilla, oak, or something else entirely.
Either way, it’s a delightful drink. 

The Hawaiian lava flow takes its name from its red and frothy appearance, which some people think is very lava-like. 
(I, on the other hand, think it looks more like a Bloody Mary with something funky going on at the top.)
Whether you think of it as lava or a Bloody Mary, the taste is likely to surprise you.
It’s light and fruity with plenty of flavor from the strawberries, banana, pineapple juice, and coconut rum.
It’s a delicious drink that takes only 5 minutes to make, and it’s sure to be a hit no matter where you’re vacationing (or not vacationing). 

This cocktail takes the bright tanginess of a margarita and adds the sweetness of coconut milk.
You’ll still get plenty of citrusy zestiness, but this one puts a summertime, tropical flair on it. 
Plus, the agave makes it a touch sweeter than margaritas made with sugar or simple syrup. 

Everyone who knows me knows that I love mojitos.
They’re so fresh and invigorating, and they have a light sweetness that complements the mint perfectly. 
These are your everyday, tasty mojitos, but you’ll use coconut rum instead of white rum. 
Plus, you’ll add cream of coconut and enough ice to make them frozen and slushy. 
Mojitos are tasty enough just enjoying them as they are, but if you’re messing with the recipe, this is the best way to go. 

This drink may look like a tall glass of lemonade, but it’s much more pineapple and citrus-flavored.
It’s tart and zesty, and thanks to the Moscato, it’s wonderfully fizzy, too. 
It’s also a really light drink; the only alcohol comes from the Moscato, so if you want to enjoy a few drinks over brunch without getting intoxicated, this punch is an excellent choice.

This sangria couldn’t be more tropical if you bought it a red Hawaiian Punch bottle from a grocery store in Maui. It has all your island favorites. 
There’s pineapple juice, coconut rum, pineapple chunks, orange slices, limes, and lime juice. 
You’ll add it all to a base of white wine and leave it to chill for at least 3 hours.
Before serving, you’ll top it off with pineapple coconut seltzer for extra fizziness and an even more tropical taste.

If you love Midori – and who doesn’t?! – then the Green Hawaiian is the mixed drink for you.
It’s a mouth-puckering sour drink, and I mean that in the best possible way. 
You’ll add your Midori to Malibu rum, pineapple juice, sweet and sour mix, and a cup of Sprite (or your favorite lemon-lime soda).
It’s not a drink you’re likely to forget once you’ve tried it. 

The high tide stands out among all the other sweet, tart, and fruity drinks on this list because it’s much milder. 
It contains Cointreau and lemon juice, so there’s a bit of citrus zest, but mostly, the flavor comes from the Japanese whiskey, green tea syrup, and water, meaning there’s not a lot of it.
If you’re looking for a light, mild drink to cleanse your palette or help settle your stomach after a spicy meal, this could be just the thing.

Here’s another lovely sunrise-colored drink that features red grenadine at the bottom and plenty of fruity, tropical ingredients on top. 
It’s tart and tangy and lovely enough to draw anyone’s eye.
Enjoy it by the pool, on the beach, or in a hot and fragrant bubble bath. It’s suitable for all occasions. 

And of course, you can’t have sunrise without sunset, so this pink-peach, sweet and nutty drink is the perfect evening complement to the Hawaiian Sunrise. 
It’s a simple, five-ingredient drink – vodka, orgeat, lime juice, lemon juice, and grenadine – and it takes no more than a few minutes to whip up. 

The name may sound exotic, and to some extent, the cocktail is exotic.
However, it’s probably not something you’ve never heard of before. You might know lilikoi as passion fruit instead. 
So, you’ll make this drink with passion fruit juice, fresh mint leaves, honey, white rum, and lemon (or lime) seltzer water. 
The recipe also says you can exchange white rum for gin and use club soda instead of seltzer water. 
Don’t do either of those things. I’ve done them both before and didn’t like the drink nearly as much.
